.... and how did you cope eventually having it on display for a new partner?!

i had jelly belly for ages. i hated it but dp said it was part of me and having our baby. i think that by the time he sees your belly, he may well have something else on his mind

True! I guess I just mourn the smooth wrinkle free pre-pregnancy tum (but have wonderful dd to make up for it). Think it's a confidence thing post-split.
I remember a conversation once with someone and me telling them I was having problems getting rid of my post-baby tummy and she politely asked how old the baby was, and I said "4". I got a really funny look but I'm sure there are MNers out there who know what I mean!

I had a super slim tummy before i fell pregnant, ds is 4 now and i wish i could say i got it back but i havent. I just lie back and enjoy. I figure that the guy can already imagine what you look like and will have felt it anyway (through clothes) so will know what to expect.

If he does run then he isnt worth it.

I have a jelly belly and a overhang which I think looks awfull, but doesn't seem to concern anyone but me, even though I know it really is quite bad. Perhaps it doesn't look that bad when we are lying on our backs, blends in more .

Good knicks and low lighting!!!

Oh God! Well no new partner in sight but am still dreading this!!!

I had a nice tummy before DS1 was born, it went wobbly of course, I despaired and hated myself.
It was back to pre-preggo state, (almost!) when I got pg with DS2 (so, took about 3.5 years!) and now of course I have it all over again...don't care though as I have my little trophy to show for it! Any new partner will have to love it as well as what it produced

Yes I have big jelly belly after 2 kids... and c-section scar overhang... this week finally got down to pre preg weight and clothes look fine everywhere except for my belly. was going to put a thread asking for recommendations for big pants... Anyone tried any good ones that won't cut off circulation?
Sorry aimeesmummy not helping you am I? Try to remember what a male friend of mine once said on the subject of womens bodies - as long as they have two boobs and a fanny he is not that bothered about the rest!

Liking all the replies....! Thank you! I guess anyone new would have to like it or "lump" it.... A friend did tell me they're not stretch-marks, they're "Go-faster" stripes!!
So, how on earth do you go about meeting someone new anyway? My car can drive itsef from my house, to the childminders/school to work and then back again in reverse at the end of the day - there seems to be very little opportunity for meeting new people!

I'm near Guildford in Surrey! Maybe we should start a MNers "salad" night out (Sad And Lonely And Desperate...) I'm happy to admit it these days, if I didn't admit it, I would be in denial ...!

I given up on the briget jones type pants and just go for normal high wasited pants that sit over my bump. Never got pants that do the job and are comfortable.

I hate the fact that all the lovely bra and pant sets just now have silly little pants which after seethrough or just too skimpy.

Aloveheart, well one difference - my 7yo is a DD.

I was so worried about dp seeing it for the first time I used to get into bed with pj's pretending I was cold {blush] for MONTHS! I'd get warm then and take them off under the cover. I remember the first time I woke up and his arm was around me resting on my saggy tum and I started to cry cos I thought he'd be disgusted but he wasn't and he let me know

Despite all the things he does to annoy me - leaving crusty socks [yuk!] on the floor, farting really loud and laughing, drinking soda from the bottle and getting dd hyper before bed - I love the way he loves me....rolls and all
