I would imagine that the best thing you can do is phone them babe! If the person that you get through to can't help tell them to put you through to someone who can. Keep going till you get to that person. Hope you get it sorted.

are you a council tenant or private tenant? if you are council then they will have to wait for their money.just keep any letters received and show them to your council office if they start sending you letters about rent not recieved.if you are a private tenant then i'd contact the landlord asap and explain the situation as they normally get a letter saying the benefit has been stopped.they will probably get a bit funny about it but it wasnt your mistake and they cant throw you out because of it as far as im aware and normally if you contact the housing after a couple of weeks and tell them you're getting hassle over it, they will quicken things up for you.
im assuming they pay all your rent? if you have to pay top up etc then just continue paying the amount you normally pay.
dont let it stress you too much.its happened to me a few times for different stupid reasons and will resolve itself in the end.noone can throw you out of your house, there's procedures they have to follow and they take time!
good luck

sympathy and lots of. the benefits office are high up on my list of idiots, also including inland revenue and csa. there's just no limits to the mistakes they can make. i nearly got thrown out once too because of them.

dont make yourself short of cash and make your children go without.its the housing benefit people's fault and its up to them to pay your landlord, not you.carry on as normal and just keep trying every couple of days to get hold of them and see what's happening.i found it good to sit my backside dow in their waiting area and when i eventually got through to see them with my two crying, bored children they had to listen!! and they had to sort it!! tell them that you're hapy for them to discuss the claim with your landlord and then get the landord to contact them.
seriously, dont make yourself and children go without.landlords are used to this type of thing.each time someone puts in a claim for housing at one of their properties they have to wait a few weeks before getting paid, its part of being a landlord, they know things go wrong at times and a good landlord wont take it out on you and your children.
