BF - how many nights is ok?

BF and I are planning to move in together later this year (awaiting myself taking control of former marital home), but in the meantime he stays over when he can. Currently that's 1/2 nights a week. I would love for him to stay over more but not as the risk of jeperdising DD's tax credits. Does anybody know what the official limit is?

As long as his main home is elsewhere it's fine. So 3 nights a week is definitely fine, as long as he has somewhere else that's his main home (ie he's not just dossing round different friends houses for the other 4 nights)

don;t know about tax credits but housing benefit and social housing say 3 nights or less.

there isn't an official limit to number of nights stayed, it is the financial dependence which is looked at, do they pay bills elsewhere, have post sent to another address, do they contribute to your own household income, etc.

He lives 75 miles away at his parents, pays rent, car tax, paye etc all registered there. He doesn't financially contribute to the house at all, I won't let him (although he makes up for that by dinners out etc so he isn't sponging). Thank you for getting back to me. Roll on the completion of my divorce and regaining the former marital home, finally we can live together Smile

I think it would be worth checking with wtc just to be sure and cover yourself too
