Hi, My husband and I seperated 3 months ago and it is my sons birthday at the end of this month. My son and daughter are due to go and see their grandparents at the beginning of half term, but as my sons birthday is before that, they want to come over to see him...with my husband in tow for his normal weekend visit that he makes!
I do not want to start causing problems with them, as although their son was a useless husband, why should they lose out, but my ex and his parents all arriving for a days visit, and taking over the house is going to be really hard. I do not really get on with my father in law.
I also work full time and so the weekend is precious...I think it is unfair of them to all land on me and take over the house, but equally it will be nice for my son to see his grandparents.
Any ideas on how to lesson the stress?!!! My husband (stupidly) suggested that I go out for the day, and leave them all in the house, but why should I be ousted out of the house?!!!
AAARGH!!

I wouldn't go out and leave them all in your house, why don't you all go to a play centre or somewhere so your out in public and there are thee distractions for you and also so yor not running round after them all day

I couldn't cope with that either. Why don't they collect your son, take him to a soft play/resturant etc - whatever and then return him to you how ever many hours later.

I would not leave my house and I would not wish to entertain my ex or his family.

It's your weekend, precious to you - start as you mean to go on.
