How do I choose?

Its DH's work and he has said I have the final say.

Have two children 6 and 4 and am happily settled in England

Oh and I've not been to any of them

ANY IDEAS?

Pruners and Sheherazade are right too, Beijing could be exciting. I don't know much about it though. I'm a lover of beaches, Latin music and art deco, that's why I picked Miami

Beijing. And get the kids learning the language. It'll be fascinating and invaluable experience for all of you.

Miami isn't all that nice. But Florida is, and you'd be so close to the keys. Miami traffic is terrible, and south beach is seriously overated. It's not a place I'd want to live with children. Would you have to live in the city?

what is the political problem with dubai? (ignorant) I'd be tempted by that, family and friends have been there and loved it. Only thing that would put me off is the heat there.

I'd go for Beijing too. It'd be an invaluable cultural experience for your DC. I lived in Asia as a child and I believe it has enriched me and given me a more open outlook. If they learn the language too it will be a huge bonus.

Miami would be fun short term but I personally would not want my dc brought up in the US of A so would only do Miamo if it was a year max.

I would go for Beijing too, it would be such an experience. No doubt your DH company would put you up in hotel to start with, and provide dosh for decent house. Could you find out what relocation support is available there? eg finding schools, what healthcare would be available etc? Are there on-line "beijing" ex-pat groups you could talk too?

Would really avoid Abu Dhabi, and Miami has hideous crime rate.....Beijing would definitely be more of an experience for all of you.

hm, beijng may be "once in a lifetime", oppportunity to learn a new language.
Abu Dhabi I might want to visit but not live, may not be as restricted as other Middle Eastern countries but still....

I think bejing if I didn't have children but probably would go for Miami. I went once on a work trip and it was awesome.

AbuDhabi without a doubt. Good schools and expat life. Lovely weather, not to far to come home to UK for a short break.

Beiing, busy, noisy, dirty, frenetic, small flats unless you pay the earth, extreme poverty, families don't mix, children sent to school for all hours of the day, Cheap to eat out.

Miami, maybe.
