Just wanted to say how utterly impressed and amazed i have been with Qld health during my pregnancy. i have no doubt that i wouldnt have been geting and got the same in the uk! I had ds in one of the local public hospitals and with problems diagnosed late in pregnancy they have pulled out every stop going. My consultant who is from the uk has been just so supportive and her reg, I just cant gush quite enough about the whole event! still waiting for follow up stuff and yes just like the health service world wide records cant move from one hospital to another but that can be my only grumble. Had everyone including the consultant present at delivery at 11pm! when they were finished on call! and will have follow up 6 week check done by consultant too. So anyone out there moving or moved pregnant i can just say dont stress about changng systems this place sure knows how to deliver small people!!!

Qld health is good. I had my first two privately and my third through the public system. I had no concerns regarding quality of doctors or midwives just the quality of roommate .

room mates yes will admit that did influence my need to get home asap! also being a nurse its much more fun being in hospital when you can go home when you want!

I have had nothing but good to say also! My DH spent my last morning in hospital buying gifts for all the wonderful staff who made the experience so great! I did have concerns about my room mates though, this time I'll be home the next day if at all possible! The staff must have some challenging patients...

Congratulations chloeb2002 .

When I was in labour with my third I was chatting away to the midwife and she was telling me stories about some patients. One doctor got punched in the face by the boyfriend of a girl in labour because he was touching her fanjo .

There was a sign in the delivery room saying "No Violence would be tolerated" .

Who are these people???

even more impressed today as ds recieved a proper pead referal for next week. Bit happier with that than the .. just bring him to clinic on thursday afternoon and we will review. Its good to feel organised!
funny conversation with a friend who has opted to go private with her current pregnancy, she only went private to get a private room and now has been told that she probably wont get one due to refurb work and staffing! made me chuckle. I had a twin room ok the company wasnt good but still no bathroom stress or anyh complaints and it didnt hammer the private health fund!
