oh bum someone beat me too it!!

Oh califrau - spoil sport - what about his shrimp on the barbie and his meringues along with the obligatory gumboot and thong throwing and of course - the cockroach races!!

We have been to the beach - girls had a play in a fabulous park and then we wandered through some craft markets.

HOme for lunch. Unfortunately dh is off to do some work for the SES so we are stuck at home. having a BBQ with friends tomorrow.

Califrau, are you sure you're not in the west of Scotland? You're matching our weather here for sure!

I am to admit that I am suffering from the mother of all hangovers
I don't usually drink a huge amount - I am a cheap date as I get pissed after 2 glasses of wine - but last night DH's cousin and her boyfriend came round for dinner and I had such a nice time with them I lost track of time and quantity. Fell into bed at 2am having lost the power of speech and control over my legs. DH said he hasn't seen me that pissed since I got caught by a policeman trying to steal a traffic cone in June 1994
So my Australia Day has been useless - am now drinking a cup of tea (couldn't face a coffee) after spending most of the day dozing on DD's bed while she played with her dolls house.
Tis blimmin hot here today ...
We are off to the neighbour's for a barbie later though ... will drink soda water I think ...
Happy Australia Day everyone
