I'd like to buy some CDs of French music for my brother who lives in the states this Christmas.

Something that isn't very well known in the US. Was thinking he would enjoy:

Corneille
Jean Racine
Tété

Which (if any) have you heard of?

None.

Should I be

I'll link this to our "all those in the US" thread to see if the others can help.

None...don't get much in the way of french music in the usa. Sounds like a great idea.

Thanks. French music isn't really well known outside of France.

But I would have felt a fool if I picked the one artist of the century who got big in the US!

Last year we did French animation 'Les Triplettes de Belleville' for the parents and 'Kirikou' for the kids.
