Hi

Im keen to make contact with anyone else living in the Vaud area (Im just outside Nyon). We've been here 10 days and I have 3 kids - twin girls who will be 3 in Nov and a beautiful 15 year old.

I have 2 silly questions that arent working well on google!!! If you could recommend a good childrens shoe shop Id really appreciate it - I used to take them to Clarks or star rite and my french isnt great so wondered if you had any recommendations.

My other question is about Nannies.... Im really keen not to do this outside of a network but I dont really have a network - so wondered if nayone can help in terms of nannies that might be looking for work and also recommended... long shot i know

thanks for ANy help at all!

Hi,

Don't live on the French side but have you tried joining the English speaking mums in Switzerland FB group?

There are currently a couple of nanny threads on there with some possibly helpful links?

Shoe shops like Clark's tend to be a British thing really. I've just been home and gotten DS measured, it's always on my list for home. Try a large department store with a kids shoe dept?

Facebook for nannies, or Norlands! I will ask around though.

Have you tried the FB or yahoo groups? Mums in Vaud?

I know of a nice shoe shop in Lausanne, Neverland, but i do confess to taking the DCs back to London for Clarks shoes. They have no concept of measuring kids feet here, they think it is a major ask! But the shoes in Neverland are nice, Kickers etc

Hey sorry can't help on the nanny front or shoe shop, just wanted to say we are moving to the same area at the beginning of September. I have 2 girls also of 1 and 3. Would love to keep in touch to see how you are getting on!

Hi, just a quick response as am on phone. Pom d'api in central Geneva does some beautiful shoes for younger children. The assistants fit them too and will always do a quick check if you're not sure whether they need new ones. They are horribly expensive - last pair I got was 85 CHF Shock but they are beautiful. Otherwise, Dosenbach measure and fit, I think.

THankyou everyone. We got some at the Chavannes Centre and so far so good. They broke the bank but I've always tried to get fitted shoes. Even spoke English with us! I will also try these other suggestions for my other daughter as they didn't have anything for her. THankyou again Smile
