Shipping from UK to the USA?

I've had a browse online and can't really seem to find a basic price for one medium shipping container.
We're moving from the UK to the US (CT) and we are totally clueless Xmas Grin

Has anyone done this? What do you think we can expect to pay? Thanks in advance

We've done it both ways round but unfortunately can't help re cost as my employer paid for it & we never got involved in that side if things.

It did go very smoothly though - took 1 week for air freight to arrive & almost 6 weeks for the sea freight to arrive in the US.

Good luck - it's exciting!!

Sookeh Try Eagle Relocations who are based in Watford. They ship back and forwards UK/USA/UK (and the world ) according to their site

When I moved, my employer gave me 1000$ for shipping. For that, I was able to ship 3 large plastic crates, full of books, clothing, etc. it was only me moving, so was all I really needed. I think it came to around 700$ in the end, and that also included the cost of the crates. Two of the crates were slightly bigger than large coffins, and one was a giant cube - roughly 3feet in each direction. I too found it hard to find info online as to how much it would all cost, but if you phone the company and tell them how much stuff you've got, they can give you a rough idea. If you've got any other questions you think I'd be able to answer, feel free to ask Xmas Smile

Thanks for the advice all Smile

We're basically just going to be shipping the childrens toys over, along with a few other bits and pieces so it'll barely fill a crate I don't think.
