Microvascular Invasion...

...Does it mean Cancer is spreading?

I have just read a letter from my mums consultant to the GP which says an 11cm tumour (HCC Primary Liver cancer) was remove "with features of microvascular invasion' I don't remember being td this before.

I don't know but surely they would have said if it was spreading. I would phone the consultant on Monday and ask.

OP this is really one of those things you (and your Mum) need to talk only to the Doctors concerned about and not MN or google etc.
There is potential here for scaremongering and that's not helpful.

Thank you for asking.

No. Mum's appointment with her consultant is on 15th Jan. will ask then we I antipathetic we will discuss in more detail her operation & future treatment options.

I don't really want to know until then to be honest. The news that it was primary liver cancer& the tumour was so big left us all reeling as it is.
