Hi

I'm normally as hard as nails but this has got me scared. I've had on/off symptoms for a year but a recent urine infection triggered it again and the Dr has referred me to a specialist. It's combined with anaemia so I am shattered, which isn't helping.

My appointment isn't until the end of August so I am trying to wait patiently, but new things seem to be going wrong every day! Over he last few days I've felt like I can't get enough air into my lungs and I am so tense. I can't talk to DP about it as he's got a lot on his plate worrying about his ex who is prone to MH issues and who is having another crisis.

Does anyone have any experience of lupus and can tell me what tests might be done so I am prepared. The appointment is the day after we come back from holiday and I don't want to ruin it worrying about the appointment.

Poor you saved from.
Lupus is very variable from very mild with just follow up appointments and bloods every now and again to much more serious disease, so even if it is lupus it may quieten down and not cause you much trouble, so don't fear the worst yet and try your best to enjoy your holiday.

hi hun,
my mum was diagnosed as lupus about 4 years ago, and to be honest she has good and bad times but generally is pretty good, she just gets a bit more tired at times, it can settle down and be quite well controlled and doesnt always mean the doom and gloom you see whn you google. chin up and be positive hun
