I own a recruitment firm for care workers that require a DBS. So long as you are honest and it isn't a violent crime you will be fine. Just tell then so that if anything does show up they will be aware of it Smile

An arrest where no further action is being taken is unlikely to show up on a DBS check. If you are having a standard check it will definitely not show up. If it is an enhanced check it will only show up if the police consider it relevant which seems very unlikely from the description you have given.

Just realised you've said the job is as a care assistant. That will be an enhanced check. I would still think it highly unlikely this arrest will show up. And I agree with sillymillyb that the best approach is to be open about it and tell them up front.

Golden rule of dbs is be honest. If something shows up and you've already disclosed it they can use discretion depending on the actual event. If you've not then (technically) they have to turn you down out of hand. This is because you have shown you are trying to hide something so may be hiding other things basically.

I've interviewed someone for an HCA role in a similar position. She disclosed on her form that she was concerned about something appearing on her enhanced DBS. We discussed it at interview. She was the best candidate and was offered the job as the issue wasn't serious or relevant. Nothing came up on her enhanced DBS as it happens but her honesty was valuable.
