Friend in trouble at work

help needed rather quickly. My friend has just texted me - she's working part time in a pub and tonight she was shift manager as the only person on duty and some guys came in and used magnets on the gaming machines to get them to empty (illegal, obvs) and robbed £800. She didn't realise until too late and now she's worried she'll lose her job.

Any advice out there?

Has she reported the crime to the police? That's the first thing to do. Then go through the process and tell the manager asap.

I own a pub, she won't get in trouble, theres nothing she could have done, these people are professionals.

As long as she informs her boss, and the police then she is fine.

Bandits are easily robbed, and often you don't even know (hard to keep track of the contents in some models).

How does your friend know how much has been taken? That sounds very suspicious to me, as I am the only one with keys to ours, and don't know what is in them untill I get in there and open it myself. None of my staff would have a clue.

The guys came up to the bar several times with their 'winnings' to change it into notes. They got £150 first then a couple of smaller 'wins' then £150 again and another one got £200 so all in she was guessing £800. She called her boss straight away and he's said it'll be fine because these guys are banned from licensed premises for pulling the same scam last year but the photos provided by the police to the pub were 3 years old so one guy in particular had changed his appearance quite a lot in that time.

Phew! Thanks for your input ladies

They are very blatant. Usually when they rob you the leave straight away so you don't click on to what they do! The only ones we have caught have come to the bar to get it changed Hmm, yes because a bandit with a £25 jackpot has just paid out hundreds of pounds!!

The latest thing our way is that they have got hold of a master key from a bandit renal company and have been going in and getting the money with a key!

We empty out bandits daily now to avoid this. (This has no effect on the prize money, prize money goes in the hopper and our money goes into a seperate box).
