Private parking fine paid already - can we get it back?

just found out my sister received a letter from a private parking company with a pic of her car saying the car had stayed over the designated period so they are charging her £80, discounted to £50 if she pays before the 12/1/12.

I'd have told her not to pay and written a letter of appeal if I'd known as I don't think they can prove who the driver was and also £50 is not reasonable. However she has paid yesterday as she said the letter scared her.

Do you think she will be able to get her money back if I draft her a letter or is it a waste of time?

WWYD?

Should have ignored it totally. See forums.pepipoo.com/ and perhaps ask for advice there. I did actually get my money back on "appeal" (the car was on a low loader and I had to pay to stop it being removed entirely) recently but only as I had a ton of evidence that there was no signage, therefore no contract, no consequential loss etc. All the advice is on that site, but to get the money back now you'd probably need to go the small claims court, which is what I threatened ("appeals" don't generally have much weight with private parking companies).
