Anyone had 4 of the same sex followed by 1 of the other sex?

My cousin has 4 boys. She would like to have another to try for a girl. She would be very happy with another boy but only wants to try if there is a chance she might have a girl.

Her doctor has told her once you have 4 of the same sex as a couple you are predisposed to keep having that sex and it is unlikely you will have one of the other sex.

It does make sense cos between us we know 2 families with 3 girls followed by 2 boys and one family with 3 boys followed by a girl. So it seems if you have 3 of the same sex there is still a good chance of having one of the other sex.

Then we know 2 families who had 4 boys and 4 girls and 1 ended up with 5 boys and the other ended up with 6 girls!! So it seems once you have 4 of the same sex it is unlikely you'll have 1 of the opposite sex.

The only exception to the rule is someone I know with 4 girls, followed by a boy but dd2 and dd3 are twins so ds was actually her 4th pregnancy rather than 5th.

Anyone like to disprove the doctor's theory?

bf cousins - 4 girls then a boy however ver the road the dad has 2 girls from his first marriage and 5 from his second!!! Yes statistially the more you have of the same sex the lower your chances of having the other but there is always a chance IYWSIM.

Other friends I know - 5 or 6 boys and then a girl. Don't know any other families of 5+

I knew 2 families growing up that had in one 5 boys followed by a girl and in the other 4 girls and then a boy.

First family always said that they had always wanted a girl so kept going until they had one.

Second family - the 5th pregnancy was a surprise and even more surprising as they were convinced they could only have girls

Saw this thread in active convos and reminded me of someone I know on another forum with 4 boys who is pg again.

Just looked her up and apparently the new baby is a girl. Not born yet though so I guess not guaranteed.
