We are expecting DC4 and can't quite stretch to the Volvo XC90 that we wanted, a colleague of DHs suggested one of these, any thoughts?

Yes and I LOVE it. 4 children, 6 individual seats, we have the diesel which does around 550 miles/tank, tank currently costs around £65.

HUGE boot and we have a roofrack on it too. Easy to drive but you need to get used to the handbrake being on the right of your seat, near the door, and the gearstick appearing to be in the middle of the dashboard!

Takes 6 adults with ease, and lots of legroom.

I have 4 DCs but would only drive one of these abroad.

they are a bit too fugly for me....sorry.

For a long time we had two cars as we only all went out together occasionally at weekends. Other ones we tried was a mercedes estate (old cheap one but lovely to drive) with seats in the boot that faced backwards. This made the DCs feel very sick though.
After that we had a Discovery which DCs loved as had sideways seats in boot. However, our model again was old and not brilliant to drive so it went. We now have a Landcruiser which has three rows of seats and fits in with our agricultural life. Appreciate it is not for everyone though!

Thanks, we did think about just adding seats to our Peugeit 307, but we have 2 dogs so the seats in boot thing isn't going to happen.

I know it is fugly, but the older style one is somehow appealing to me, not sure why.

Wuld love a Landcruiser, but I don't think it's going to happen on our budget.

Also, I think we would have the new baby in the front middle seat, I assume you can turn the airbag off? How easy is it to strap the DCs into the rear seats/baby into front middle seat?

We've had a Multipla for 10 yrs and it's fab. Never had a problem.
And it's not fugly.
It's unassuming and sweet.

There is no airbag front middle on the old ones, and you can turn the airbag off on the passenger side easily using the ignition key.
