There is not one fork in the kitchen, where are they all?
Spoons usually found in sand pit, but forks

We had teaspoons going missing.
Discovered the under5s were throwing them in the bin with the used yoghurt pots when they'd finished with them.

There's only me, DH & DD1 use ours and yet there's always something going missing. Must hid itself along with the unmatched socks somewhere.

Think my missing cutlery is hiding out with all my missing socks....

The missing socks thing is in a league of it's own in our house.

I have lost forks too - several surfaced in DD's bedroom, but I'm still missing some & her room was completely emptied for painting last month.

I suspect they go in the bin-bag when plates are scraped.

I've had knives go missing, which is altogether more disconcerting than the exodus of teaspoons we also seem to be experiencing.

My parents once had a frying pan go missing. And they are the tidiest, cleanest people I have ever met.

mine get eaten by the bin monster according to my kiddies.

I would complain, but at least it is proof that they are 'trying' to help with the clearing away!

oh, and DH often takes them to work aswell from which they never return, so not sure who is worse in this house.....

hey ho, any excuse to go buy new sparkly cutlery

Teaspoons We can't keep hold of them. I have no idea where they disappear to. They never 'turn up eventually' either!

My cutlery go on holiday, then come back! One week I'll be short of teaspoons, then another week I've a full quota of teaspoons but short on forks, and so on and so on.

I've got a one year old and despite initially having about 10 baby spoons I now spend ages scrabbling around trying to locate even one. Seriously, where the f*ck are they ?????

Answers on a postcard please.

We've got no teaspoons (again) and only 3 of 8 dessert spoons!

Where do they go?

Report
bookthief · 27/08/2008 17:59

Ours are all at dh's work. Along with all our plastic containers and several flasks.

Spoons. Someone takes all my spoons. I have one teaspoon left and 3 tablespoons. I have about 20 knives and forks. I keep buying spoons and they keep disappearing.

I think uri geller has a key to my house.

Found some teaspoons in the garage where dh had used them to do something with a bicycle tyre, but of course never thought to put back.

Knives mysteriously make their own way to the end of the garden where by coincidence ds3 does a sideline in bows and arrows.

Dessert spoons are currently being used to make all kinds of potions with blackberries.

yup its teaspoons here as well, but DS5 (autistic) has a penchant for them, and simply must carry them EVERYWHERE , its embarrassing because he has enzyme deficiency - and is therefore quite a skinny little chap... so it looks like he carries round spoons in the hope that someone will feed him!

2 kitchens here so the missing stuff can usually be found in the kids one (that sounds so snobby....our teenagers have a kitchenette in their attic sitting room, it makes for a quieter life).
