Three kids

Following on from how hard it is to go from 2 to 3.

DH and I would like no.3, but I really worry that I would not give enough attention to my older two. Has anyone experienced this? I don't want my lovely DS's missing out because I'm interested in a new baby.

i have just had dc3, well 11 weeks ago. no problems. dc are 6 and 3

Thanks Scorpio. DS1 is nearly 5 and DS2 is only 10 months so not wanting to try just yet. But worry most for DS1 as I always think of him as grown up

I have four. The older two did miss out for a bit when I had the twins, but I think it was mainly because there were two of them! They def don't miss out now. You would probably find that the baby will slot into their routine and it is different to having a first or second baby.

My third is ten months old and I can honestly say it has not been any where near as hard as i thought it would be - esp as everyone was warning me about the 'jump' from 2 to three. However...my other two are 6 and 11 so are not as demanding as a toddler would be. It is tricky to split the time, but dh and I both do spend time with them individually and as a family and it seems to work. Also, getting them involved with the baby is a great way to spend time with them whilst looking after baby. Totally agree that the third has fitted into our routine and the fact that she is soooo good has definitely helped!

it's more like the baby is ignored while you get on with the other 2 - at least that's what happened here. I had a very small gap dd2 was only 19 months when dd3 was born . dd3 is the best baby ever - sleep well eats well and is happy doing whatever everyone else is doing.
