Wide age range - bath time/bed time

How would you 'ideally' do it, 4 kids, age 5-12. Nightmare getting younger 2 to settle!

Settle the 5yr old first, then the next up. The other two can sort themselves afterwards.

What ages are they exactly and who sleeps where?
I put my two youngest down together. They have a story together whilst they lie in bed and they share a room. Eldest stays up extra half hour then reads in bed for 15 mins. He has his own rm.

Exotic thats what I try but the youngest never settles :(

Ages are 5, 8, 11 and 13

I think we need more info about your routine etc. What do you mean by the youngest never settles? Is he/she messing around, upset, hyper, up and down, or just awake? What's happening with the 8 yr old when the 5 yr old is awake? Do you do bath time, stories etc?

I have 4yo twins (they share a room), 8, 11 and 13.

We only bath the younger three once or twice a week. Generally the plan is to wear them out during the day and then :

5pm - tea
6pm - chill / olay / snuggles / sofa + telly or laptop.
7pm - story time, teeth and bed time for twins (older ones do homework)
8pm - older kids into PJs and have some cereal if hungry
8.30pm - send the older 3 upstairs, they can read for a bit if they want.

This is usually mucked up by homework or activities but our au pair is arriving this summer and it will all run like clockwork then (ha ha)

The 11 and 13yo do moan about having the same bedtime as the 8yo, but I point out that they have to get up earlier (and he gets up nicely without ever moaning).

I really don't have the energy for policing bedtime once the twins are settled.
