My partner and I are applying for our first joint mortgage today. We have a DIP and our offer has been accepted by the owners of the house

My partner is very worried that everything is going to go wrong. We have been renting for 4 years now and are currently staying in a flat with our ds who is 3 now. We want our own place to be settled instead of moving around.

We got rejected once but it was when my husband applied under his name only. You stand a better chance with join income. The bank prefer 2 to track the debt, I think. My neighbour got rejected and he appealed and got there in the end. No bank is your friend so just keep fighting until you get what you want I suppose!

Dh and I got rejected. We're self employed, only been so for just short of 18 months yet he owns his own house that he rents. Admittedly would be better in our names but even so, the bank wants at least 3 years worth of books Sad

I was rejected. I refused the rejection on the grounds that I thought they were being ridiculous. Apparently you can't do that but when my solicitor started for their reasons in writing they gave me my mortgage.

Most things are possible if you are willing to fight for then.
