Infertility

My strange solution to infertility

Just wanted to post my experience in the hope that it might help someone else.

Late 30s and unexplained infertility. No BFP in 2 years. After 2 years we were so sick of sex to order and I was so sore that I got my husband to ejaculate into a pot and I inserted it with a syringe, inserted as far as a could. BAM, 1st BFP that month. Sadly I miscarried but I did this 4 months on the trot and got pregnant every time with the 4th time ending up with my DD. Exactly the same happened with my son 18 months later. My fertility doctor was a bit perplexed but said that it might have deposited the sperm nearer where they needed to go. Maybe worth a try, particularly on the nights where you can't face DTD xx

We also used DuoFertility to pinpoint our most fertile days. We bought it under the 'no baby, money back' guarantee as it was quite expensive. However, we were very happy to lose the money Smile I found the personal service I got with DuoFertility outstanding and they helped me to completely understand my cycle. They even phoned me up after looking at my charts online and urged me to do a Pregnancy test when I was 10 days pregnant with my daughter and had no idea. My chart had a huge 2nd temp rise which indicated pregnancy.

I did consider this but we have issues this wouldnt solve.
I guess its possible you have tilted uterus and it wasnt going in right place

Interesting... We are on cycle 35 and awaiting IVF. No BFPs in that whole time. I have wondered before about this - I've had lots of internals (sorry tmi) and at one the nurse said I need to make sure my hips are raised after dtd because of where my cervix is (I think, I can't quite remember). I've always done this anyway to no avail.

What sort of syringe did you use and where from?

Isn't this just a DIY IUI? You can buy kits now to do it yourself.

It's not IUI as that's washed sperm directly into your uterus. This is just artificial insemination where you deposit the semen as close to your cervix as possible. I googled 'artificial insemination kits UK' and found quite a few quite cheaply. HTH

I did the hips thing legs in air cycling just to be sure both times we conceived. I swear it worked for us as during smears nurse commented on cervix right back/rear facing I think...worth a try for some maybe

Good luck
