Hello
Just thought i'd like to share this with you ladies, so here's my story.
I have 2 children ages 9 and 7 whom i conceived easily, had one at 29, the other at 31.
Anyway, 2 and a half years ago, myself and my new husband, who had no children of his own began trying for a baby. Nothing happened. After 6 months he has tests and all clear. So we kept on trying. Still no success, so last year i went back to my doctor and had hormone blood tests. They showed i was going through an early menopause. My FSH was way off the scale at 33.5. We were devastated.
Anyway, we got on with things as best we could and just accepted we wouldn't have a child together and just enjoyed my children. I threw myself into hobbies i hadn't done since before the kids, dyed the grey from my hair and we got a dog!!
I totally forgot about trying to conceive, then to my absolute shock got a BFP a few months ago! Never thought this would ever happen but it has and we are over the moon.
We were told we would never have a baby due to me being in early menopause and a ridiculously high FSH. Yet here i am, 16 weeks pregnant, feeling great now the sickness has passed and been out looking at prams today.
Hope this gives you ladies some hope. Sometimes the doctors are wrong and miracles absoulutely can happen. x

Thank you. Don't want to come across as smug, just want to inspire you ladies. It's took a long time and a lot of heartache to get here xx

perkin40 thanks for sharing your story. i'm a few months away from 40 and i'm trying hard not to panic and stay positive. we don't have children which makes it all the more worrying. going through tests now to see what's going on so hopefully i'll get to the bottom of things.

congrats

Congratulations
Actually i dont find this that strange.
You dont have anything wrong, it was just taking a lot of hormones to ovulate. Apparently fsh can vary from month to month.
Also a lot of women seem to accidentally get pg just before menopause as the body tries hard to get that last baby.
Also as you continue to try each month that gives you a higher chance than someone say doing ivf who only has the chance when they do the treatment (depending if they have a known issue)

I don't see how a genuinely infertile woman would gain any hope from this. You had 2 kids and took a little longer to conceive your third. You really don't get it. But congratulations
