I don't often post on here, but feeling so low at the moment. Lost quite a bit of weight a couple of years ago but was 5lb off IVF on the NHS. then life, 40th, wedding and honeymoon got in the way and 2 years later all the weight is back on. I'm so gutted but luckily have another chance as I have come into money so can afford IVF privately.

Still need to lose weight, lost a stone and need to lose another couple at least, but finding it so hard. I'm on a liquid diet because it's quicker, but I feel so low, TOTM and hubbie is working away so only see him at weekends.

Depresses me so much to see people having babies, especially those larger than me obviously not infertile, it hurts so much and I never wanted to be an older mum!

Sorry my main post is so miserable, keep thinking about doing slimming world but tried twice before and didn't stick with it so I am scared to try again as I want to weight to go down!

Hi OP.

Sorry you're having a crap time at the moment. Trying to lose weight under the pressure of fertility treatment eligibility must be doubly hard.

Have you got someone who can support you with the weight loss? A friend or relative who could exercise with you and do weekly weigh ins etc? What about the weight loss support threads on here?

Don't give up cos you've hit a bit of a hiatus.

I am going to be 37 at the end if the year. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to ttc (got pregnant in April but miscarried). I am the only one of my friends, work team and close family not to have a family yet. I know it can be heartbreaking.

Trying to stay positive can be hard but we have to give it our best go :)

I wish you the best of luck with your ttc journey x

just wanted to send hugs, its awful. at the beginning of our ttc journey, i was told to lose weight before theyd help. my bmi was 36. i did lipotrim under supervision by pharmacist (terrible diet, but did the trick) and got it down to 25. since then, i now do weight watchers, eat healthy, take vitamins and since got bmi down to 22.6.

my periods are now regular (i say regular, as in 1 every 6 weeks ish, but before they were no existant) and soon we'll be starting IUI (and hoping not to have to have ivf) also self funding. it is very depressing, but you have to keep the end goal in sight, i know its soooooooooooo hard, but thats all you can do. if you give up, your putting your dream further and further away.

do treats, clothes, shoes for each little goal you do. dont think of your weight loss in stones, do little mini steps and set tiny goals and each time reward yourself with clothes/shoes/pamper.

join minimins website, thats a great support for weight loss.

good luck xx
