Ok, so my Husband and I have been TTC for just over 5 years, we were referred to Fertility Clinic in 2012 where tests were carried out. We were told that if we hadn't conceived by Sept 2013, to go back and we will begin IVF.... We didn't go back at the time as life kinda got in the way, and I miscarried in October 2013 (worked out I was approx 4-6 weeks).
Since then, all of my cousins, sisters and close friends are falling pregnant or having babies, and both my Husband and I are finding this very hard! Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon for them all, it's just hurting that in the past 5 years, we have come close once but lost it.....

I have since been back to my GP and have been re-referred back to our Consultant, and are waiting for an appointment.
One thing that I'd like to know... Were any of you lovely ladies told you had to be a certain weight to go for IVF?

if you are not going privately then there is likely to be some limit on BMI range. This is because success rates and BMI are correlated - have a search for NICE guidelines IVF BMI for more information. You may also find that if you have had a recent miscarriage you will not currently be eligible for NHS funded treatment.

Hi, we are going privately for our IVF (starting down regs on 28th June) and have been told that they like BMI to be below 35 but ideally within the "healthy" BMI range of 20 - 25. My BMI is 25.1, I am forever trying to lose weight but have been told to stop stressing, eat a well balanced healthy diet until I get my BFP at which point the nurse did tell me I would just eat whatever I wanted!! Not sure I can take that approach though I would end up the size of a house!

Good luck with your journey xx

Hi kezzyt, in my area bmi must be above 20 & below 30 to qualify. Good luck.

In my area you have to be below bmi 30 too. The mc might not affect funding for nhs though as it says in the guidelines about neither partner must not have living offspring.

Good luck!
