I was diagnosed later summer with Hypothyroidism. The clinic I visit however told me they prefer it 2 and under to reduce any extra chances of infertility/miscarriage. I've since been put on L-Thyroxine and the levels at last check were 1.7 something. I am due to go back in two weeks to be rechecked and have my dosage lowered a bit if there is further improvement.

I wasn't put on thyroxine until I miraculously got pregnant and stayed pregnant (after 6 effing years). So it was an obstetric endocrinologist who prescribed me my current dose. She said they aim to keep TSH under 2 in pregnancy, nearer 1 if possible. I would imagine that many people would find it very difficult to conceive in the first place with levels higher than 2.

If I hadn't got pregnant with DD3 I probably wouldn't be on thyroxine yet. I would still be feeling half dead all the time.

Good luck! I am so glad they are treating you and taking the hypothyroidism seriously as I am convinced it causes far greater fertility issues than most doctors imagine.
