CBFM or Ovulation sticks?

Hello

I've been TTC for 18 months with one early mc, moderate endo and a 5cm ovarian cyst, all removed during a laparoscopy in November.

Trying to cover off all my bases and wonder if you ladies have any thoughts on whether the outlay for the clearblue fertility monitor is worth the cost. I am currently using the ovulation sticks which seem to work for me and give me a positive reading on day 13 and 14 (in addition to other physical ovulation symptoms)

DH's theory is that as we have sex every other day for a good week before ovulation and a few days after, would the monitor actually change anything?

I'd be interested in hearing your experiences.

Thank you

Hi Poppet82 - there's a whole thread about the CBFM and it has a steady stream of "graduates". FWIW, I used it and it worked for us first time which I can only attribute to the sensitivity of the monitor. It's worked for a lot of people we know too, it really helps you time things correctly. Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

Ah thank you! Any idea where I can find that thread? I found the graduate one (if only I could just join that one!)

100 pounds is not a lot compared to the cost of fertility treatment if it works
Have you had the test CD 21 to see if you are ovulating/ having enough progesterone
Temping can be a indicator that you have actually ovulated, even though it shows after the fact

Yes, I've had the full work up of day 3 and day 21 bloods. All clear on that front and confirmed ovulation, low FSH etc. That's why we progressed to laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to check things out inside as I was having unusual spotting.

Poppet i fell pregnant the first month of using the CBFM so i can't say anything bad about it, even though i didn't actually hit peak! I'm about to stick it on ebay actually, its brand new, only bought it in December and i still have some sticks. PM me if you would like it x

I think they need to be reset to a different user but I think that is in the instructions (I think we reset ours)

Thank you so much Sebamummy. I think I might hold out a bit longer before I take the plunge. See how I get on next month.
