Hi,
Me and my partner have been ttc for 3 years now. I just took my 1st course of clomid (day 2-6) and was due to go for a scan to check my follicles this tues 31/12/13. As you can guess the unit wasn't open but will not be open until Monday 6/1/14. That's 6 days after I should have had a scan! Have I missed my window this cycle? Can anyone help, I haven't really got anyone to talk to about this and my gyno and fertility unit are really unhelpful!
Thanks in advance
Laura :) xx

Hi, they should still scan you on the 6th but I suggest you still having plenty of intercourse just incase. You prob already know but everyone ovulates at different times. I have PCOS and have been tried on clomid, they have scanned me at different times of the month to check my ovulation and to check for follicles and each time it has been different result. Go for your scan and see what they say.
Fingers crossed for you xx

Thank you :)
I was planning to go but I didn't want to get hopes up . I'm pretty sure I have PCOS but I haven't been diagnosed with it yet.
Did you have the hcg shot? I've never had one before and I'm a bit worried!
Thank you again!
:) xx

Hi I've not have the hcg shot but not sure if that's the next route for me, blood test on Monday for me then back to the doctors the week after. Try not to worry, I've worried about things I've had to have done over the 5years and it just makes things worse. I had to have a dye inside me and have X-rays to check things around my ovaries aswell, not a nice experience but it had to be done. Ive had blood test and scans every month, just hope I get somewhere this time round as sick of playing the waiting game.
Hope we both get our wish soon xx

Yeah I had to have the dye, not nice at all!
It helps when your bot completely mucked around by the nhs itself, because not being able to conceive isn't life threatening its not a priority!! Grrrr rant over lol!
Il be thinking of you Monday! Hope all goes according to plan! Il let you know if the shot is all that bad!
Fingers crossed :) xx

Hey, how did your scan go? Hope everything was ok for you. I had my blood test last night just got to wait for my results which should hopefully be by Friday but Monday at the latest. Just want everything to be ok so I can see what happens next.
Hope all is well for you xx

Hey! I hope the bloods show something! Something you can work with obviously!
Couldn't get in for a scan, was told the unit was closed AGAIN! Then later that day got a call from said closed unit for them to say 'I think we have missed the boat this month' - understatement of the year! :/
I'm up there tomorrow to get another round of clomid, not sure what else is happening but I had to book an app to go pick up the tablets? Il keep you updated.
Hope your results come Friday and not Monday!
Fingers and toes crossed!

OMG it's a joke isn't it, they just mess us around all the time and don't understand what we are going through at all. I used to be at Oldham hospital but have recently moved to Essex and waiting to be referred back to hospital from my doctor but he was the one who sent me for blood test to start off with. Oldham hospital was a joke so I hope the ones down here are better. What hospital are you under if you don't mind me asking?

I've been having loads of problems with my bleeding at the moment too so may have to go for a scan myself, see what doc says.

Seriously though they should have found somewhere open for you to be scanned, everyone ovulates differently and something may of shown up. They are useless x
Hope your ok x

I'm ok thanks. Went today was hoping for a scan as you said everyone ovulates at different times! But no joy just went all the way to the hospital to pick up some more tablets! At least this lot were free as the last lot was wasted!

I'm at Ipswich hospital, it has mixed reviews mine are they are useless but I don't really have much choice. I wish I could have stayed under my dr for this whole thing as she was fantastic!

If I were you I would go see what my dr said probably nothing but best get these things checked out!
Do you know what your next step would be? Or have a rough idea?

Hope your ok! I know this is a really difficult and heartbreaking thing to deal with! It's actually really nice having someone outside the box to talk to! Thank you for that :) xx

The HCG trigger shot is fine, btw. I've taken several. The only side effect I get is insomnia, but that seems to be fairly unusual.

Oooo a new person :) heyyy!
Oohhh I have rubbish sleep patterns as it is! Do you mind me asking where you take the shot? And was it successful?
If I've put my foot in anything please tell me to shut up!

Well I've been called bk for more blood test as they want to compare something! Not sure what my next step is going to be, I've been tried on clomid which didn't work for me so not sure if they would try me on it again.
Yes it's lovely to talk to someone else who is kind of going through the same thing, thanks for this.
At least you managed to get your tablets for free this time round but it's still not the point is it x

In the belly.

I've taken several on various assisted cycle, but never with Clomid (never taken it). I just wanted to respond on the trigger as no one else had addressed that.

Does clomid regulate your periods? I am now on day 27 of my cycle. Normally I can go to 40+ days but just wanted to know if clomid regulated anyone?

Thanks xx

Have you had your next lot of tests? Or at least found out what they want to compare?
They need to invent a baby shot, so we can just have one of them instead of all this messing about! Just one injection and boom the deed is done! Wouldn't that be lovely!
Hope you are ok,sorry haven't spoken much lately been a bit down but perked up again!

Hi everyone,

Have recently read many posts on this thread but am new to this so please forgive me if I don't use correct terminology!

I have been ttc for 5 years now with my partner who I have been with for 7 years. He is 29 and I am 24.

At the age of 16 I was 38weeks and sadly lost my twin girls with previous partner, then at the age of 17 I lost my little boy at 21 weeks with my current partner, then at 18 I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks then couple months later lost another baby at 16 weeks, a few months after that I had an ectopic pregnancy and was treated with oral medication. I was then diagnosed with pcos and endometriosis which was lazered off in 2010. I have ha two miscarriages both at 14 weeks since then.

I was referred to fertility in September 2013 and after being told to lower my BMI which I did I was then given all tests and so was my partner which all came back really good!

I started taking 50mg of clomid on 17th dec 13 (D2 of my cycle) until 21st dec 13 (D6). I experienced no side effects. I had a scan on D8 and was told there were 3 small follicles all under 10mm in size. On D14 of my cycle I was told to start my OPKs which came up positive up until D17 of my cycle and me and my partner were active everyday.
I then had my progesterone levels checked on D22 and received results on D24 which showed progesterone levels at 41 which showed I had ovulated :)!

On D26 I had slight period cramps and a negative pregnancy test on D28 :( and cramps again on D29 and D30 :(

Now just waiting for my period to come so I can start my second round of clomid (docs are keeping me at 50mg)

I'm so disheartened and confused as to why this round didn't work as I had sex on correct dates based on docs advise and OPKs and my progesterone levels showed I had ovulated as my levels were 41 so don't understand what want wrong!

If anyone else is going through this or similar then please rest as I really feel like I'm alone at the minute :'(

Thank you and good luck to you all that are trying to conceive xx

Hopefully it was just not the right egg this time and next time you will be successful! There are quite a few people that seem to get pregnant after several rounds so keep positive, at least you are responding and capable of getting pregnant. Your past sounds heartbreaking so I wish you all the best x

I am on 100mg clomid and had my scan yesterday that showed two follicles developing and dr said i should ovulate friday but all the OPKs I am using are negative!! I am not holding out much hopes and think I am going to have to move to injectibles/iui :(

Okay... Not much activity on this thread?

I'm really sorry to hear all of your heartbreaking experiences and I'm just glad to have somewhere to talk about what other people don't really understand.

To answer my own question yes it looks like clomid really does regulate periods. I had my 1st 29 day cycle in well over 2 years! And I am booked in for a scan on the 29th so fingers crossed :)

I'd like to hear how everyone else's journeys are going!

Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Hey yes I am, don't think it's working properly though as I didn't get a positive on my opk which is what happened last time. I seem to grow follicles but they don't pop out! I think I need the HCG shot but my dr doesn't agree with it so will probably move to gonal f. I am finding it really stressful and taking all the time out from work for scans/blood tests is a challenge too so praying the next round works!
Sounds really positive for you thoughSmile
Have you had your day 21 blood test yet? Mine is Friday but not hopeful x

Loops789928 · 23/01/2014 21:46

I've only had one lot of blood tests and that was before we were referred? I just got put straight on 100mg clomid and a HCG shot ( after months of being told to relax and it will happen of course!).
I was messed about last month as my scan day fell on NYE so I couldn't get a scan and wasted one lot. I'm really hoping its good news on wed ( fingers crossed!)
It is really stressful, I'm having to have time off all the time and I feel bad but you really do have to look at the big picture.
I hope everything is well with you, and I hope you get a good result tomorrow!

Clare1986 you are amazing! I take my hat off to you! You have been going through this for 6years! I haven't even had my first shot yet and I don't think I can take it much longer.

I am painstakingly waiting for my period to start so I can start my 3rd clomid cycle! I should have been having my scan this week if my stupid cycle had stuck to the plan!!

Can I ask, we're your folicals ever not big enough to have the hcg shot? Mine were not last time and I literally locked myself away and cried for the rest of the day!

Once again, you really are amazingly strong!
