Hi, I was confirmed with PCOS four years ago , me and my partner had been trying for a baby for 18months before going to the doctors ect which was when I found out I had PCOS... We have been under the hospital now for four years , I have been tried on clomid 3 times and each time been unsuccessful. I used to go through fazes where I wouldn't have a period for like 10months at a time but strange for me, up until 7days ago I have not stopped bleeding since August! I went to the doctors they gave me utovlan to stop the bleeding, this had worked but then today I seen spotting of blood again, I still have 3 days on these tablets! Anyway more to the point about my PCOS, I have tried everything, looked all over Internet, tried to loose weight, just nothing at all is helping me. All I want is a baby is that so much to ask for. I keep getting myself really down about this and I don't feel like I get any help or support from the hospital or doctors. I just don't know what I do and not sure if the hospital will even do anything else for me :( someone please help me get through this :(

Argh just wrote out a long essay of a response for you and it just got deleted. Stupid phones. Right il start again then. First things first don't worry! There are thousands of people who have pcos, myself included. There is also a lot that can be done. Have you had a full investigation as to why you are not conceiving? My doctor has insisted on a full analysis before embarking on any treatment and I think it's the best way although long winded but we will get there in the end don't worry. Have you had a hsg done to check if there are any blockages in ur tubes? Has your blood been analysed to see if you have an underachievement thyroid? Have you had scans of ur ovaries to see if there are any cysts? Don't let doctors fob you off and link it all to ur weight, if ur clinic is not doing something every month then I suggest changing hospitals. Were you monitored while you were on clomid? Why didn't it work, did they put ur dose up if it didn't work after the first month? These are the sort of things they should be doing. It's a long winded process and it's not going to happen overnight but there is so much which can be done. Alternatively try acupuncture, agnus cactus. I know it's so tough but try not to lose hope just yet. X

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.
Yes I've been through all these checks, had scans and blood test every month for the last four years. The hospital wouldn't up my clomid after trying it three times they just took me off it.
I have just changed my doctors and have asked them to refer me to a different hospital but it's a waiting game again now, got to book for more blood test for next week then see what happens from there.
They do always just put it down to my weight but then tell me with pcos it's hard to loose weight so what the hell am I supposed to do, I'm just finding it so hard at the minute, it's getting me down and all everyone says is "don't worry it will happen" I can't think like that, I've tried not thinking about it but it doesn't work it's always in my mind.
I just hope these new doctors and hospital do something because if they don't then I really don't know what to do. I know I'm still young as people keep pointing out I'm only 25 but personally if it was upto me ide have my two babies by now. Sorry for moaning on just need someone to talk to who's going through the same thing x

Hi I was diagnosed with pcos about 6 months ago after ttc for 18 months, I am ovulating sometimes on my own and have started on clomid to help with the months that I'm not ovulating myself, had bloods back from first course of clomid and I def ovulated. I'm 28 and can totally relate to what your saying about having planned to have had your 2nd child by now. When I told my doc that she was just like, well your only 28 there's plenty time!

Also I have had all tests done and the only prob they can see is that I might not be ovulating some months, but after over 2 years I'm still not preg and have ovulated some of those months so that worriese too.

Good luck with it, hopefully you have some luck soon.

Yes that's the same as me I don't ovulate every month, I just hate going to the doctors and hospital ect and feel useless. I often feel I should just give up but I can't when I want it so much.
Again thanks for getting back to me, hope you have some luck soon too x

Uck I get like that all the time, some months I feel really positive others I think it shouldn't be this hard, maybe it's not ment to be. But then I see someone preg or a little baby and I realise how much I want it. It's hard to not become obsessed with conceiving. I dream about it all the time and its always on my mind, it's really hard to keep a healthy balance of normality.

I have PCOS and spent 22 months ttc, then made some changes and fell pregnant 2 months later. Heres what I did ... 1) switched my diet to a low GI diet - get the 'pcos for dummies guide' it's brilliant with loads of lifestyle tips and low GI info and recipes.
2) started swimming a couple of times a week.
3) took Agnus Castus tablets - you can get them in holland and barrett and they regulate hormone levels and help ovulation. The recommended dose is 2 tablets twice a day but I only took 2 tablets once a day. They must be stopped once you ovulate - I had no idea when this was so I took them every day from my cd1 until my period, then I used that cycle of 32 days to work out ovulation day (14 days before your period starts) so Cd 18 and the second month of taking them I stopped taking them on CD 18.
4) we had sex every other day from Cd6 till Cd23.
And 5) we used concieve plus every time we dtd.
As I said before, 2 months after trying all this I was pregnant and bubs is now 13 months old - don't lose hope, good luck Xxx
