Laparoscopy to remove fallopian tube

Had my fluid filled fallopian tube removed yesterday ready for my first IVF round next month.
Any of you ladies had this op? Wasn't really expecting this much pain and wondered how long recovery took for other people?

Hey Suzy
I've had a tube removed, but for different reasons.
I was a mess, and basically spent 2 weeks curled up in a ball on the sofa. I also lost quite a lot of weight, as I just couldn't eat for about a month - any more than a small glass of water, and I was full.

I was signed off for 2 weeks, and in reality shouldn't have gone back to work at that point. I probably needed 3 weeks off.

Fingers crossed you recover faster (emergency removal for me, vs planned) and everything goes well next month.

If I was making suggestions (that I wouldn't follow, as I'd go stir crazy), don't overdo it, take it slow by steady, building up time on you feet slowly (ie don't go to a wedding 4 days post op), and think about your posture - I struggled to stand up straight for a while.

But I was discharged 8 hrs post op, as I walked the length of the ward, which was the requirement. In retropsect, home possibly wasn't the best place for me.

Look after you self.

Hello

I can see you are already a bit past your op, but for anyone else reading I had a lap and hydrosalpinx removal with extensive excision of endo on bladder/bowel and cyst removal, I had 3 days in hospital and was back at work 8 days after the op, I just avoided heavy exercise and lifting for a couple of weeks more

My other laps were straight forward and I was out the morning after (3 days off work) but the last one was a 6 hour surgery and I had a bag for a few days as they resected my ureters

Good luck for your cycle
