Ovulation but no period yet ?

I have posted quite a bit on here recently, just i am getting very anxious as been trying to conceive for 15 months. I had aday 21 blood test to check for ovulation-i hadn't, so the test was repeated on day 28, which confirmed ovulation had taken place. My cycles are irregular. I'm now on cycle day 36 and still no sign of my period. I'm definately not pregnant. Is it at all possible to ovulate and then not have a period ? I'm 39 in 4 months time so i'm getting very worked up now and worried that i will never conceive.

Could you be pregnant? It seems some people don't get positive readings for a while. Otherwise I know stress can delay it....

I am very stressed! When i had my day 28 bloods i was told i had ovulated and my progesterone level was good. I guess i must have ovulated somewhere between the day 21 and day 28 bloods. So assuming i ovulated on day 21 and add 14 days to that then i should have had a period on Monday (yesterday). I did a preg test on saturday with a cheapy poundshop test which was negative. I suppose i could test again tomorrow if period hasn't arrived although i'm almost 100% certain i'm not pregnant.

Could you have ovulated later? If you did on, say, day 26, you could still be in the luteal phase.

I feel for you, I am a few days late too and it's so stressful. I have started acupuncture and if AF arrives in the next day or so I am treating myself to a massage at the weekend Smile

erilou, I read your other post where everyone was saying Clomid would not help you - please don't believe that! It can help even though you ovulate on your own. I have irregular periods but I do ovulate on my own (first child was an 'accident') but Clomid helped me conceive my others. It boosts all the hormones you need to ovulate in the best possible way. Don't lose heart if you get your period next week, do try the Clomid for a couple of cycles. It really might help. x

Hi erilou, when I was TTC I would ovulate anywhere from day 18 to day 28 so it might not have happened yet/ could have happened very recently. I'm afraid I'm rather dubious about Clomid myself, I did 6 cycles and it moved ovulation forwards by a day or two but that seemed to be that. Everyone's different though so you could have a different outcome Smile

Well i hadn't ovulated when they did day 21 bloods but when it was repeated on day 28 it seemed that i had ovulated. So i must have ovulated sometime between day 21 and day 28. I guess, as you said sometimes happened to you, you ovulated on day 28 and assuming i was the same then i would have a period on day 42 which would be next Monday. Just hate all this waiting! did another pregnancy test this afternoon and got a disappointing negative (no surprise there). Guess i have to just wait it out a few more days x

Baggyoldcow - i'm really hoping i can try Clomid as iv'e heard it'sa wonderdrug for some, even my doctor said so. It would seem my ovulation just needs a kick up the butt and be brought on earlier in my cycle x
