the ivf route

Hi ladies. Just wondered if theres anyone out there starting ivf soon. This is my 1st cycle and I had my pre treatment scan and bloods done yesterday. Im joining the egg share scheme but apparently my treatment wont start til next year as results take 6weeks and they close for xmas..... does it really take this long to get a blood result!!! Sooo frustrated and anxious to start. Cut off day for starting cycles is the 23rd october so I will miss it. Anyone else in the same boat or have been???

I just saw your post and didn't want it to go unanswered. I have just had my day 2 bloods and am booked for a scan next week with the plan of starting treatment before the end of the month.

It does seem an awful long time for a blood test result - the ones I have done at the local hospital are back with my GP within a couple of working days although it can depend what they're testing for. Some clotting disorder tests take six weeks but I'm not sure what tests would be required for egg sharing.
