I am very new to site but would really appreciate any comments on how people have got on with IUI. I am on day 13 and to be completly honest have been testing every day since day 10 and all negative results. I now have terrible cramping & don't feel like there is even any point testing on day 14. Are there any sucess stories out there? Considering whether to put myself & hubby through it all again.

Hi. I did iui - it took three times to work and I just had a beautiful baby girl. Don't get disheartened after the first time - the success rate is t that high. I was interested to see that each month, my body responded better to the drugs, ie more and bigger eggs. I tried really hard not to test too early - even on the round that worked, I had an early negative. You should talk to the doctor about how best to move forward. Good luck!

Thanks for you reply, its so good to hear a success story & huge congrats on your baby girl. It's interesting what you say about responding better to treatment if you continue as I only had one mature follicle this time. I will speak to my consultant, you post has def made me more positive about giving it another go so thank you again!!

We were incredibly lucky, success on first round of IUI after 18 months tttc and unexplained infertility. Before we started, we were told the odds of success were much higher on the 2nd and 3rd rounds, which tallies with what Reiltin said. Fingers crossed for you OP

Hi Harry, Good luck!
I'm about to start IUI next week. I was told 15-20% chance per cycle. Trying not to get my hopes up but I keep imagining that we'll be lucky first time...need to calm down but I'm too excited!

BTW my first son was conceived on third round of IUI. It does work x

Thank you all for your comments. It really does help to hear success stories. Best of luck Vikks for your IUI next week. I had an appoinment this morning and I am responding better to treatment on this 2nd go.... Day 6 of cycle and already have 2 follicles of 11mm on left side which is such good news as my right tube is blocked. I have my fingers crossed that this might work xxx

Can anyone help? I'm good for IUI insemination tomorrow morning - a natural round with no drugs (following 5 failed rounds of ICSI) as with ICSI do you bed to avoid using perfume etc on then insemination day? Just realised I forgot to ask my clinic about any of the details re this proceadure!

Thanks for your help?

Hi Luckystarfour, I am so sorry just read yr comment. I had my 2nd IUI today so crossing my fingers for both of us! Like, Blindkitty I'm not sure, I have never been told anything about perfume but if you were unsure best to avoid it. I hope your IUI went well, mine was quite painful, I've actually posted another thread as I've bled a little and bit freaked out by it. Though prob over thinking it as per usual :(

Good Luck Ladies!

I'm going in tomorrow (CD2) to have scan and pick up the drugs. They've put me on Gonal-f this time, when I conceived my son I was on Menopur. I'm not sure what the difference is...
What are you all taking? Any fun side effects to look forward to? Grin

BlindKitty-DH was in the room. You've got to have a kiss and cuddle afterward! Wink

Harry81- I've had no bleeds afterward but I'm sure it's not bad sign. Fingers crossed for you. x

BlindKitty-Lining too thick to start the drugs. Sad
I've got to go back again tomorrow morning, finger crossed. It's just a pain really because it's 45 minutes drive away and I was in there two hours this morning. Fitting all this in around work and a two year old is the real miracle. But it will certainly be worth it in the end!
Thanks for asking!
Good luck at your appointment tomorrow. x

Oh no! That's awful! How can you thin your lining for next cycle?
