HSG Test Info

I just wanted to put a quick post on here about the HSG test. I had mine done today and I had been quite nervous about it after reading some horror stories on good old google. I found it to be no worse then a smear test and it was over quite quickly. The whole thing lasted no more then 5 minutes and I never felt the catheter entering my cervix. When the fluid went in I just felt mild period like cramps. I have to say I came away feeling a little foolish about getting worked up about it being painful, which is silly as I'm ultimately having it done to have a baby which will be far more painful! It was good news too, my tubes were fine! Just wanted to share to gel ladies who may have one coming up!!

Hello, thanks so much for sharing this! I have my scan appt next Wednesday and am very nervous!

If they did find anything - would they tell me?

Hey Twinkle! As I said I was nervous but it was no where near as bad as I thought! You could see it all on the screen and the doctor was talking me through it! She told me it was ok but I'm not sure if they would tell you if there's anything wrong. She did say that if there were complications then it would take longer. Try not to worry and good luck!
