Hi obi - do not panic I have a DS 8 and conceived on 3rd month. I only have one for reasons that are nothing to do with pcos, I am sure i i could have conceived again. was diagnosed 12 years before, and didn't meet DH for some time. In the intervening years I lost 3 stone, took up exercise and reduced carb intake (not really low just lower). i believe for me there was atipping point at 2.5 stone wt loss as cycle suddenly became regular after many years of irregular periods. There is loads of info on the net. Good luck xxx

Hi Obiidiya,

I was diagnosed with PCOS in October following an internal ultrasound. I hadn't had a period in 10 months at that point having come off the pill. I started to take a hormonal balance vitamin supplement from sainsbury's, and had a period 10 days later. I then had two more period between 25-40 days apart and found out to my surprise in Feb that I was pregnant, we weren't even trying I just came off the pill to try and regulate myself before getting married (with a view to trying then). I'm now 18.5 weeks.

I also lost about a stone before conceiving (wedding diet!) which I think helped!!

Honestly try not to worry too much. My doctor told me that with PCOS most women will in the end conceive naturally.

Not me but two friends.

One has a 6 month old and the other is currently pregnant.

The one with the 6 month old was due to start IVF when she found out she was pregnant.

The pregnant one was diagnosed at 18 and told it was a very slim chance she would conceive without help. She was trying for around 6 month and gave up hope. 2 days before new year she found out she was pregnant

I was told I had severe PCOS and would likely need assistance to conceive. I haven't had any periods at all for about 2 years so assumed nothing was going on down there.

I was therefore rather shocked to find myself pregnant quite accidentally. There is hope with PCOS, both for those trying and those not. x

I took metformin for sux months, was about to start clomid when I found I was pregnant. I think pregnancy somehow cured my pcos as after having DS I conceived another 3 times without difficulty (2 mcs 1 dd).

If you are carrying any extra weight lose it, it makes a big difference.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teens. Kept healthy, kept off any extra weight, conceived naturally on 3rd month. I know lots of people who have conceived with pcos within their first year of trying :-)
