Hi Sfozzy how exciting that you'll be starting treatment soon. I'm afraid I can't help with your question but you may have more luck over on the conception threads - much busier than over here. And more women having similar treatment.

Best If luck Smile

It's the same process as IVF up until they've collected the eggs so you'll probably be injecting for around ten days before being scanned to see how your follicles are developing. You'll then either continue injecting for a couple of days and have another scan or give the hgc trigger injection to mature the eggs.

I am currently doing a short protocol as a satellite patient of LWH. On my short protocol I will inject inject menopur ( the stimulant) for about 10 days. The exact number of days is determined by how you respond. This is judged at your scans. On along protol you will down reg before stimming with a drug such as Buserelin. As a patient there is no difference between ivf and icsi in terms of what you do.

The staff at LWH have always been very lovely. However their protocol literature, as supplied to me via a satellite private clinic, was very confusing. Ask all the questions you feel you need to at your appointment. Also, not surprisingly as they are the biggest clinic in Europe, it's a bit of a production line. When I had a retrieval there we didn't even slip in to the next band of car parking charge (over two hours) as I was in and out so quickly. That included waiting for half an hour in the waiting room with a sperm sample that no one would take off me. Unfortunately I felt sick, it was all so rushed, and I vomited on the drive home.
