Hello
Looking for some help. Here's my quick summary. Have a child 3 years old. Got pregnant very quickly with him (age 30- child born age 31). Got pregnant second child 16 months later (again v. quickly 2nd month trying) very sadly lost baby at 7 weeks. Now been trying again for almost 2 years and nothing at all. Referred to hospital last october and eventually had laparoscopy in February which revealed one severely blocked tube with adhesions and nothing could be done. Told other tube looked fine but no guarantees its working.
Anyway my concerns which I had raised with consultant over the last 6 months were:-
*Luteal phase defect (I charted for over a year and got a luteal phase for around 7-9 days, I am also not ovulating until day 18-22 of cycle and having a 27-30 day cycle)- told this not a concern as I had possibly ovulated earlier than the ovulation sticks!
*Low progesterone- my readings have always been under 30, some very close ie 29.6 and 28 but also couple at 16 and 14 - told not to worry as maybe just wrong day of cycle and some close to 30!
*My history of bleeding in pregnancies- with my son I bled constantly 6 weeks to 12 weeks then at 31 weeks with not much explanation given, thankfully he is perfect but it was horrendous and terrifying.
The only tests I have had are 21 day progesterone, internal scan and the lap and dye. I previously asked for clomid to try or progesterone but was refused these just saying they have other bad effects.
Anyway to get to the point, we were told in March to give it 6 months and then our only option is IVF, however I have managed to get an NHS appointment next week with my consultant and really see this as a last chance shot before we have to spend our life savings on IVF. Can anyone suggest any other tests or things that I can ask for at my appointment? I would be willing to try anything as it is my last shot before we have to make the call re IVF. I am now 34.5 so time is getting critical too.
Feeling really upset over all this so would really welcome your help.
