I think this is so sad. I couldn't survive without books, reading is so important.

What a role model, eh?

Can she read?

I know quite a lot of people that have never read a whole novel. Some people just don't sit down long enough! I went a good 5 years without reading a book as I never had time and was SOOOOO tired all the time.

It doesn't sound that odd to me. Depends what she means though..... if she means she had NEVER actually read any part of a book.... then I don't believe her..... she must have read her children stories.

Not even the one she 'wrote'? Blimey.

She probably struggles with "Roger Red Hat, Billy Blue Hat", to be honest.
As MGR says, it's not like we're surprised, is it ?

Nanny probably reads her kids stories....before going to read David a little story.....

I'm a bit sceptical about this though, would like to know where it was printed? was it a tabloid? if so, don't belive everything...blah blah

It figures...

I heard it on Radio 2 this morning. Guess they harvested it from the tabloids.

Apparently she prefers magazines, so that's alright then.

and yes, I bet Nanny does read the kids bedtime stories (if they get them at all)

I was about to post that I bet she is well versed on Hello magazine

In the Spanish magazine 'Chic' apparently, according to Sky .

It was in the Sunday Mirror yesterday. (I don't buy it, I look at all the UK newspapers online). It's probably another throwaway comment taken out of context.

Yes, I heard it on BBC London this morning. Doesn't make it true of course, but doesn't surprise me if it is.

I used to work with a girl who never read anything - not even mags.

Just coz she hasn't read a book doesn't make her stupid!!!! Thats a horrible thing to say! My Dad has never read a book.... well, apart from the Guiness Book of Records. He's certainly not dim.... a bastard yes, but dim no!

I really don't understand why this seems so unusual. I have lots of friends that don't read novels. They would much prefer to read the paper or a magazine!!!!!!! None of them are stupid/dim/thick/self-obsessed!!!!

You lot are like a witches coven sometimes!

MT - So she's stupid for wanting to keep her family together after he H had an affair???? Well.... I think there are a few MN'ers that have done that.

She gets such a rough time. I don't think she has ANY talent in showbiz, but I think she plays the game well. And I think they are both good parents. But then again.....

4!!

Don't you think she's obsessed with fame toothache ?

I think she'll do anyhting to keep herself in the papers .

Why do you think they are good parents ?

RachD - Yes totally obsessed!! That doesn't make her thick though..... look how rich they are!!! If she's thick then I'd like some of that please.

I think they work very hard to keep their family together and not be apart from the kids or each other.
Many people in showbiz don't seem to make that much of an effort. Obviously I'm not commenting on their parenting skils..... but purely commenting on the time they spend with children. In fact.... I don't think I've seen Posh photographed with baby 3 yet.

I think this thread is a bit OTT considering it was originally about the fact a Newspaper has said she doesn't read books. I mean.... so what?!?!?
