Saw this ont he news last night: here

I taught her over the last couple of years. Her mum works as an LSA at the school I have just left. She used to work with some of my lower ability classes, such a lovely woman. Feel so sad for her and her family. They'd been so excited about doing the TV series, and now the young girl is dead. Police says not suscipious - so what happened to her? She was a happy, healthy 17yo from what I hear. Feel really saddened

This is the fourth pupil I have known to die in my years of teaching, and every time it feels so horrible. Life isn't fair.

I know. Just seems so tragic. The other children's deaths I have known from teaching have been either accident (hit by car) or illness (pneumonia and menengitus).

in the telgraph it says that she had confessed she was a lesbian and had been getting involved in internet chatrooms, soi possibly that had something to do with it

it does seem like suicide as no supicious circumstances

How sad Hula. I got an e-mail from dd's former CSA in Rochdale last week telling me who had died (3 kids) at the school (where I also worked as a dinner lady). It makes you think, doesn't it.

And makes you appreciate what you've got!

Poor little love.

I hate the idea that anyone has to 'confess' to being a lesbian - it isn't a crime.

Thanks all. It is obviously front page of all the local papers here, so their pictures are on show in all the shops/newstands. Her mum is such a lovely, hard working person - they must be devasted

I (sort of ) know how you feelHula, one of my pupils died a few years ago, although she was quite disabled and seemed to just drift away in her sleep, she was only 9. I know how dreadful I felt when this happened so can only imagine how it must be when the end is somewhat more complex. Thoughts are with yourself and her family.

I know Blu. You'd think nowadays that thinking you might be gay was not the hateful taboo it once was. She looked a lovely girl - the sort anyone would be proud to be a parent to. It must have been a horrid shock Hula
