DD and I saw her recently in Manchester. I'm gobsmacked.

I do hope she can pull through and they've caught the cancer early. Also, that she is well enough for the treatment to work effectively as she must be tired with touring.

It struck me at the concert was just how thin she is.

I was so shocked, I suppose you don't expect it when someone is so young and beautiful.

I hope she is soon on the road to recovery and does not need extensive treatment as I believe she really wants a family and chemotherapy may make that difficult.

such a shame. Hope she will be ok though

oh blimey!
well it was noticed on MN that she was looking veryv very thin

Hope she can get through it OK

I happen to know that someone on her staff was in the same boat a few years back and pulled through just fine so she has someone close at hand for support and good vibes

We saw her in Manchester too on April 24th. Just thinking now that must have been bubbling away in the back of her mind even then

she is 36, is that young for breast cancer?

I think it's brillinat that she has admitted publicly to this. What a fantastic role model.

Hopefully it will remove some of the stigma that goes along with breast cancer and encourage other young women to seek help and treatment.

It's sad to hear but I'm sure they have caught it early enough and she will be fine.

my mum's best friend died of breast cancer at 39, and i used to flat with a girl who had breast cancer in both breasts at 22

i don't think there is a "too young" for this horrible disease

DH mother died from breast cancer at 37, but that was many years ago. Apparently the cure rate is now over 70%, think Kylie will be OK, very early stages.

Amanda1, just like to wish you all the best.
Breast cancer is one of the cancers where the most advances have been made over the last 2 decades, thankfully, but must be tough all the same. My mother and my aunt both had it but it was spotted early enough.
My GP in the UK told me I was 'too young' when I requested a mammogram after my mother fell ill! I was 28 at the time.

I had one done all the same, here in France, as I have a few cysts in my breasts and have been advised to keep an eye on them.

A friends daughter died last year aged just 27, she'd had it for two years, they had given her an all clear after a double mastectomy. It came back and she died in just 6 weeks, so sad as she was an only daughter.

I had a lump removed from my breast when I was 5 months pregnant with my DD, I was 29. Thankfully I have all my xrays from every year and so any change can be seen straight away.
