Tourism minister says those disrupted by passport fiasco should enjoy a holiday in the UK (while she's in Brazil)

I couldn't believe there wasn't some frothing on here from people who have been caught up in the incompetence, but couldn't find another one

The tourism minister is meant to promote tourism in and to Britain.

And is nothing to do with passport issuing.

She will be encouraging people to stay in, or come to, Britain all the time.

But I'm not supposed comments are being picked on right now.

Especially as this was a not prepared speech, but a general comment to those who do not want to go away that there are lots of lovely destinations in UK. The Guardian seems to be making a great deal of of a connexion between events that is not causal. For example "speaking after Theresa May" implies far more than "yesterday"
