Because he wants to enforce British values of freedom and justice.

Because Dave has probably got some new cuts up his sleeve and knows the general public aren't going to be happy.

To give the cabbies a free car wash during their uber protest

Because he has had intelligence that civil unrest is expected to increase

And he's decided that he wants to appear "firm" on law and order so that he can get elected leader of the Bastard Party

Because he's a complete and utter cunt

Because he's planning a public appearance to rival his olympics zip line appearance.

Think of the photo opportunities! Way more imaginative than pulling pints.

mousmous · 11/06/2014 16:07

because they think they are most cost effective and lower maintainance that riot horses.

Same reason why Boris does anything. Because he's a complete and utter plum who can't resist a bit of willy waving. He makes me hurl. A lot.

Because in March this year, the Met made a formal request for them and he chose not to overrule their conclusions on what they need.

Fucking disgusting. Can't actually believe that that bill was passed, and so quickly. Arseholes.

He has told Ferrari. N that he'll stand in front of it to test it out. Join the queue to be the person to pull the trigger. :o

They're illegal in the UK apart from NI. When did legislation get passed to legalise it?

I was a bit Shock when I saw that the will cost over £200,000, then I read that this is in fact a massive reduction from £870,000 EACH.

Report
RedToothBrush · 11/06/2014 16:46

Tread, they have authorisation to buy them. But no approval to use them currently!

I've been hit by a water cannon. Used correctly it hurts, but no more than a taser (now THAT hurts) or tear gas. Boris will be fine, but bruised if he gets a direct hit (doubt it).

They are effective, esp if filled with dye. I hope the met has had proper training though. Used badly they are a waste of time and dangerous.

scaevola · 11/06/2014 17:51

Buying them now will sav London Concil tax payers boy £2m against full price.

I don't think new legislation is required. What is required is the Home Secretary's authorisation. If that is not forthcoming, the cannons can be sold.

Before the Met decided to request them, there was a public consultation in London. Nearly 70% in favour.

The ridiculous applause he got for turning up at Clapham Junction with a broom went to his head.

He's anticipating more riots and set out to buy the biggest, bestest pressure washer he could find.

It won't end well Hmm

scaevola - Where did you get that figure? I thought there was objection to it?

And why? Boris is a fucking wanker - lying fucking bastard!!! Hate that man and what he is doing to my beautiful city Sad

Also Germany threatened to sell them elsewhere if Boris didn't make a decision soon.
