How fucking terrifying?? 91 people dead, 24 of them just children. Search and rescue still looking for bodies.

I've sat in tears watching sky news this morning. That old lady finding her mutt live on air.... The school....

Puts own worries into sad relief doesn't it? There by the grace of god go I....

Anyone seen if any charities starting/exist since 99 one? That school has hit me hard...poor kids, poor parents. Words are not enough.

I'm crying here having just read the news on this. Those poor poor parents rushing to the school only to be sent away to wait, I literally don't know how they got through that.

Since the Boston bombings I just don't seem able to handle news of children suffering - April Jones, the Philpotts, the Padstow tragedy... there have been so many awful stories recently. I have never been the kind of person who switches off things because they are 'uncomfortable viewing', but I think I might have to now, it plays on my mind too much. Must be something to do with the stage my two are at.

awful. The area is Tornado Alley, but this one it seems came with almost no warning and slammed right through a heavily populated area.

AprilFoolishness; if it is upsetting you that much, there is no shame in switching it off. There are children and adults suffering and dying everywhere due to corrupt governments, wars, atrocities in the name of religion etc etc. We don't tend to see it unless it is a sudden event like this. The feeling of sadness and helplessness is natural in anyone with any empathy.

All we can do is try to do our little bit to make things better, whatever it is.
