My God, that is awful!

Why anything like this is allowed, I do not know.

Giraffski - This was awful. The day after the shooting the papers said the wee boy was in a critical condition..... then later that day I read on BBC News that he had died. So sad, his 13 yr old Brother was carrying him at the time..... and if the pellet had hit the older child he would have been fine. It was just that the 2 yr olds skull was still soft.

His parents have been campaigning ever since to get Air Guns banned. If anyone knows of a petition on the go can you post a link? I think 99% of MN'ers will sign it.

I know giraffski. It's just not on at all is it. A gun is a gun..... they can clearly kill. Well okay.... they can kill small children!!!! If carrying a knife is illegal then why isn't carrying an Air Gun?

DS was aimed to with an air gun by a kid when he was 14m old, the pellet hit an inch from his head. There were no other mothers at the park at that moment but other teenagers who shoe the kid away, I just took DS away as fast as I could, didn't ring the police because in a previous accident they told me their hands were tied with regards to children.

Every time I hear this sort of news I get livid at what could have happened. The only thing I regret when I see the possible consequences of such acts, is not going straight to the kid and give him a good smacking (here talking the woman who has never hit somebody, not even in primary school), I would happily go to prison for a while in order to teach those stupid parents who buy the guns that they are not toys and no children (or adult) can be trusted with such "toy".

Just had to respond to Chandras post.... I hadn't noticed it before.

OMG!!! How horrendous for you and your ds! !!!! Something has got to be done about the free availability of air guns.
