at least three quarters of all men saddled with a desperate housewife/bovine earthmother secretly wants a boho broad like Miss Moss...

...according to Julie Burchill in the Times today .

I am probably a bovine earth mother in Julie Burchill's eyes, but I am 100% sure that my dh would rather stay celibate forever than sh*g Miss Moss, and as for Kate Moss's idea of fun... doing drugs, falling over at partys, neglecting her child and "dating" a pasty-faced drug addict... God, I'm so envious...

Am I the only one to think this is totally ludicrous then?

I'd like her figure-that's about all! She's half my size!

You'd have to be mad to take parenting advice from Julie Burchill or base your mothering skills on Kate Moss'! Ridiculous woman.

I agree I'd like to look like Kate Moss though.

I was about to read the article till I realised it was sprouted by Julie Burchill. Everything she writes is pretty much ludicrous - her never ending rantings about earth mothers just make me think she's jealous of those who actually hang around and bring up their own kids rather than wandering off and leaving them to be brought up by their dads!

Bearing in mind that she used to be employed by The Hell (or at least its Sunday sister), one suspects that she has another agenda anyway.

She seems to try to be controversial all the time simply by spouting total and utter nonsense. And her take on motherhood is undoubtedly coloured by the fact that she's cr*p at it.

I wouldn't like to look like Kate Moss at all - she's not that attractive and her figure is like a 12 yr old girls.

I though Burchill was a chav not a bohemian? I don't think it's possible to be both. Well, it probably is in her head, anything is possible there..

My dh absolutely loathes Kate Moss. Really, really loathes the way she looks, and says she seems both dim and nasty. But I do know what she means about dull. Have horrible suspicion that my conversation is less than sparkling at times. But would rather be me than Julie any day of the week.

With such a public endorsement from Burchill, the Moss moment must surely be over

Why do 'boho' chicks never have any t£ts? They've all get stick figures like boys. What's that saying about a man who desires such a 'woman'?

I think men do find curvy women more attractive, hence the epidemic of boob jobs! This kind of skinnyness is a status thing though, isn't it? As well as being totally f*cked up!

I mean, the old Daisy Duke or Jessica Simpson? No contest is there really?

Report
monkeytrousers · 20/08/2005 19:42

But not as curvy as Burchill mind!

Report
monkeytrousers · 20/08/2005 19:44

Or bovine as Burchill.

never seen anyone who resembles a cow more

My DH actually quite fancies Miss Moss, but then he also likes it when I wake up with a hangover, looking rough with make-up smudged down my face.

So...All I need to do is get wrecked every night, rub cheap branded mascara over my face and pass out in the loo and I could be her!{grin]

Oh, and maybe lose 3 stone. Now, what could I find that speeds up metabolism mmmm....

I think Ms Burchill is desparately trying to convince the world and cling to the belief that she is a bohemian when actually she's an ordinary middle-aged woman, not overly blessed with beauty or sex appeal but who is quite good at getting people's backs up by writing sensationalist articles. Does she really believe that three quarters of husbands would prefer her to Nigella or Davina McCall, say, just because she takes drugs now and then?

Actually, not sure Ms Moss is that picky. Not judging by her latest beaus. I wouldn't have ever given that twat the time of day.

Burchill's full of crap isn't she? I can't even be bothered to do more than skim that piece, quite agree, I'd have my life and dp over hers (has she got a partner atm? I seem to think not) any day. Ha ha at satine, quite.

I really dislike Kate Moss too and don't, gasp, even think she's very attractive. I know I'm alone in that though! So I could see what she saw in Johnny Depp but Pete Doherty? Yuk! It's so screwed up that 'he's a smackhead and that makes him interesting and dangerous' stuff isn't it? Kate Moss needs to grow up imo. I feel sorry for Jefferson Hack and Lila.

Kate's not a boho, she is simply living a sordid lifestyle (which if not supported by her "fame" and past earning would have seen her in the gutter by now)

Julie Burchill is equally not a boho, she is simply a bitter and twisted middle-aged woman who has always wanted to be something she's not

How amusing that Julie in her most delusional phase yet should try and ally herself in any way with Moss when the only thing they've really got in common is their working-class roots and their inability to sustain a stable relationship or be there for their children

Can you tell that I don't like either of them
