Hi Fillyjonk! We're doing just grand thank you - what have you been up to lately?

Not too bad at all here. Got a balance between directed learning and letting them explore at the moment that I'm content with. The good weather helps!

How's it working out with the new little one as well? Is it much harder to balance it all out? Since DS is an only, I've never had to juggle children...

hmm

well sorky gave me very good advice which was really to do nothing until dd2 is 6 months old

that said, the kids are so little that its pretty easy generally, we do a lot of reading/baking gardening, all stuff that is sling compatible

Soo busy!
With groups and things and so many new people HEing locally!
My dd8 after 2 years of struggling to 'teach' her something is finally motivating herself and producing some brilliant work.
I'm so proud of her.
There were times when I felt like giving up.
I should have listened more to those autonomous HE'rs but it was a hard 'de-schooling' process for me.
My dd5 loves educationcity and is whizzing through ks1, but is reluctant to read or write anything.
I've learned my lesson though and I'll leave her to do things at her own pace.

I have been addicted to charity shops and The Book People. Just to strew of course as ds is only 4 and we're autonomous. I think I'm just indulging my passion for having loads of books on loads of things... I've been reading children's encyclopedias when ds goes to bed , but I've been learning so much!

At the moment we're exploring (and of course not using books at all!), if there's a street, or footpath, or dirt trail ds hasn't explored on his scooter then that's where we go.
