Have been home edding our now 7 yo for 2 years now and have tried a couple of different curriculums / curricula. Coming to the end of our current "programme" which has been very detailed in terms of parent instructions and timetables. To be honest we haven't really used all the material and I have ended up feeling more stressed and guilty as we've fallen further and further behind. DD seems to learn much more when we take a less formal approach and go at her own pace.
We do a lot of reading together as DD loves books and I too enjoy reading. So I'm wondering whether this is the way to go.
I see that Ambleside Online is a free resource ans offers links to a whole load of free ebooks, which would be great for us as we're outside the UK.
What I would like is to hear your opinions on the Charlotte Mason approach. What are the weaknesses and strengths?
Thanks
