DH and myself are thinking about home educating our ds. We would like to find other home educating families near by but cant find details of a local group - We are in Ellesmere Port, which is at the bottom of the wirral/ just above chester, so either wirral area or chester would be easy to get too.

He's only 2 at the moment but me and dh feel if he's going to be home educated, then we would have liked to have decided by the time hes supposted to start nursery at 3, as if we home ed he wont go but if we do decide to go with school we'd want him in the nursery.

Hi stagsden!

I don't know the area but have had a bit of a search for you. Here is a Facebook group you could start with: Home Education Cheshire There may well be something more specific to your local area, but you could ask about that on there. It could be worth being on a county-wide group anyway because when your son is a bit older you might want to know about outings and activities which are farther afield but worth travelling to.

Hi, we are thinking about home ed for our 3 yr old and we're in that area.

We've been looking on and off but struggled to find any support groups actually in Chester so if you find one, I'd be interested too.

Hi, I'm home-edding on the Wirral. Your best bet is joining Home Education Liverpool on Facebook (this is where Wirral things are posted as it covers Merseyside too) and the Yahoo Liverpool home education group. I do believe there is a Cheshire yahoo group too. I've been to a few Cheshire/Wales meet ups. There is an unschooling coop on the Wirral in Hoylake once a week, and quite a few things in Liverpool. I did hear about an unschooling coop in Elesmere port but I don't know if that is still going.
