Recommendations for user friendly online support forums?

I have a friend who would benefit from some HE related support forums even facebook ones but is quite delicate

Pretty much what I'm looking to point her in the direction of is something none scaremongering about officials, who are not going to frighten the life out of her by making her think her children are going to get taken away if she so much as even thinks about having any LA contact. Where you won't be flamed for using normal polite descriptive words or attacked for taking an almost school at home approach.

Preferably one where you won't just get booted out and end upon the receiving end of any nastiness for no good reason and ideally one that's not run by any self professed HE gurus. Just a fairly friendly thing where differences of opinions are expressed politely and encouraged so a good balance of advice and support exists.

I've been through most of the ones I'm a member of and can't find any that fit the bill as they seam to be so far apart on each extreme either quite unpleasant and should only be entered by the robust or at the other end of the scale administrated by a small group of people who try and terrify you then boot you out if you advocate personal choice.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Can second the Little Bit of Structure - we're a very friendly bunch, who range from vaguely to very structured!

Is it associated with any HE thing like education freedom, education otherwise or any thing like that?
