Small Georgian cottage: roller blinds? curtains? venetians? etc...

I am really not au fait with recent trends in home decoration, really don't have much time or cash and need to do a mini-refurb fast before I rent out my very well-located slightly smart and small house, which has three sashes across the first floor frontage. These are very visible from the street and cover the bedroom, landing and bathroom respectively. I want them all to have the same window covering. At the moment my blinds are ripped temporary paper blinds from a refurb nearly 4 years ago (shame).

I really like the idea of something pale that will go with my white walls and also block out light. My partner and I looked at some tiny samples from Tuiss, but my partner hated the plasticky texture and I admit I'm not that in love with it either - but there may be no alternative. A friend suggested blackout curtains, but these would have to be right for three different types of room and possibly different decor, and I imagine they'd put my bank account in the red. Also, my back window in the bedroom is too small to take curtains rather than blinds, so I've sort-of narrowed it down to roller blinds, venetians or true muslin drapes (are they called voiles these days?). Venetians are a bugger to clean and muslin drapes might just be messy-looking for a rental, so does that leave me with a roller blind? And are these ones from Ikea (£14, and can be cut to fit) any good? //www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/living_room/10701/ And would you go for an off-white in my place, people?

And, no, I haven't made up my mind - it's just that I know so little about this area that I'm sure once I get it done I'll discover there was a solution all along that I've been completely unaware of...

Ikea black out blinds in black would work well. Off white blinds always look cheap and depressing to me.

Roman blinds?

Thankyou everybody. The high number of past threads on this topic that are to do with blinds and so on convinces me that mine is a well-trodden minefield. I don't think the budget can currently stretch to shutters or Roman blinds. I saw some lovely wooden Venetians in John Lewis today - expensive! I think I will probably be going for the roller blind option...
